Turtle Adventures
Getting Women Outdoors Since 2008
Turtle Aventures: Connecting Women With The Earth One Step At A Time
Turtle Adventures had been developing in my mind for many years. Exploring nature, lying on the ground with my ear pressed against the earth, and going deep into the woods have always been the sane parts of my life. Since, 2008, I've been sharing my love of the outdoors.
Getting outdoors, whether for a long daily hike with a group of women or going alone on a solo backpacking adventure allows us to connect with nature, bringing a sense of peace and belonging and a deeper understanding of who we are.
I invite women to join me on my adventures in the great outdoors. At Turtle Adventures you'll find everything from a walk around the block to a week in the wilderness.
We'll carry everything we need on our backs and discover hidden secrets one step at a time. You'll spend days treading lightly with only your thoughts while discovering the rewards of setting up camp and falling asleep under the stars.

Why Turtle Adventures?
I am in love with the outdoors and have led a passionate full life close to nature. I'm confident and comfortable in the middle of nowhere with only my thoughts and the critters as companions. I'm experienced in hiking, backpacking, planning trips, and having fun while doing so. I attended the National Outdoors Leadership (NOLS) program in the Beartooth Mountains in 2013 and I'm certified as a Wilderness First Responder and have a Mental Health First Aid certification.
Please, contact me for upcoming Backpacking 101 workshops, and other opportunities to meet up with like-minded women outdoors.

Isla Mujeres, Mexico
“I recently went on a Turtle Adventure Tour with hostess Jane Schmidt to Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
This could not have been an easier trip thanks to Jane's careful planning, laid-back manner and extensive knowledge of Isla and travel. We were offered many choices for activities but could opt out and explore on our own. From picking us up at our front doors, hauling us to the airport, assisting our journey through customs and look out for comfort every step of the way, Jane is a natural leader.
I cherish the memories of my trip and l look forward to another trip with Jane.”

Grand Canyon
"Turtle Adventure lady, Jane, puts careful, conscientious, and comprehensive preparation and planning into this Grand Canyon hiking trip. It is first-rate. I gained valuable how-to knowledge of backpacking - what and how to pack for living outside, food, snack and water needs, leave no trace tips and what to expect on the trail. I highly recommend taking this well-planned trip. You can feel at ease knowing that all details have been considered, Jane readily answers any and all questions and concerns. Your responsibility is to pay attention to the information that Jane provides. You will have fun and be empowered to plan your own backpacking adventures."

Superior Trail
" I had the pleasure of joining Jane and some like-minded women for my very first ever backpacking adventure. This was a decision that was not easy for me to make. At 69 years of age I wasn’t confident that I was capable of hiking and camping with everything I need on my back. But . . . this was something I have always wanted to try. My experience exceeded my expectations and gave me confidence that you can do anything you put your mind to. But the really great gift I got from the experience is the knowledge of how to plan and execute an amazing adventure like that. That is knowledge that is mine to keep. I will use that to go on adventures with friends. Amazing time, good food, and bonding with some awesome women. Thanks Jane, you are the best."
